Anyone who has a dispute wants to get rid of it as soon as possible. Rather workable relationships than legal jousts. Litigation usually costs a lot of time, energy and money. Moreover, a court judgment is not always a solution. There is another option: mediation.
Mediation is the joint resolution of a dispute, with the help of a neutral, professional conflict mediator: the mediator.
Almost every dispute has a solution that is acceptable to the parties involved. Often this solution is not seen because parties are involved in a conflict. The mediator can change this by relaunching the stalled communication between the parties and by stimulating the parties to consult.
The mediator is not above the parties. He is not making a ‘statement from above’. In mediation, the parties determine the solution themselves, whereby their interests and the future come first, all with the help of the mediator who supervises the negotiation process.
Cyril Janssen from our office has successfully completed the mediator training and has extremely positive experiences with mediation assignments.
